More Pokémon X & Y Info From CoroCoro, 4 New Pokémon?

According to the incriminating evidence below, Pokémon X & Y will have four new Pokémon.

Yancham- A fighting-type Pokémon with a move called “Parting Remark.”

Elicitel- A electric/normal-type Pokémon that uses a move named “Parabola Charge,” which heals it’s HP and also inflicts damage on surrounding enemies.

Yayakoma- A normal/fighting-type Pokémon that can use the fire-type move Flame Charge.

Gogoat- A grass-type Pokémon that uses “Horn Leech.” Players will be able to mount and ride this Pokémon while in the field.

PAX EAST 2013 Spotlight | Revolution 60 Preview

In the future, an American orbital weapons platform has drifted off course, causing a diplomatic incident. A team of female special operatives must steal a space shuttle and stop the weapon from firing, but all is not as it seems. If you fail, an all out nuclear war is set in motion.

Revolution 60 is a stunning game that is in development for iPad.  Brianna Wu, head developer, had inspiration to start this project after playing Infinity Blade and realized that iOS Unreal was the future of mobile gaming. She has done an amazing job creating the game along with her team, which is mostly composed of women, using Unreal engine. The game is fully voiced acted, and is starring anime legend Amanda Winn-Lee from Evangelion (awesome!) .

The game is a “deliberate mixture of two games, Heavy Rain and Mass Effect”. You, the player, play the game through a character name Holiday, a trained assassin, using touch gestures with nothing other than the touchscreen. You will make decisions that lead to victory or failure. Just like Saints Row: The Third and other games alike, you will make decisions that will lead you to different endings. In SR3 the difference between letting Shaundi die and catching Killbaine or doing the opposite is the same difference as in Revolution 6- between siding with the rogue commander Minuete or siding with Amelia, the engineer who has a strong determination to figure out what went wrong with the weapons platform.

I have to say that the claims are true that Revolution 60 pushes the envelope on what’s possible with iOS mobile gaming. The game features animation that you would not expect from a mobile game. Detailed sets, and spaceships are designed by four-time Hugo award winner Frank Wu. It’s also really cool that by total chance their team is mostly female, which is a very rare thing to find in the gaming industry. An outstanding thing that this team did is that they did not label themselves as indie developers, indie game, or indie game company. Although they are all three of those things, they didn’t abuse that title to get attention. They used there great skills to get that attention. Therefore, I say hold on to your iPhones/Pads/Pod Touches until it’s planned Q4 release.

An in-depth look article at Revolution 60 and it’s team will be coming soon.

Sony’s February 20th Announcement

Alex Gaming Blog is brand new; therefore, it is very unpopular. Despite being very small and unpopular, I will still be doing coverage of Sony’s announcement tonight, February 20th 2013! Of course I wasn’t invited to go, but I will be doing a detailed overview of everything that will be announced tonight, so stay tuned!

E3 2013 Predictions. It’s Kinda Early, But What The Hell?

It is February 3rd, 2013, which means there are 127 days until E3. Now I know there are rumors and such on the internet but I think the right time for predictions, and again this is only my opinion, is about 1-2 months before. I personally will not be going to E3 due to 2 things.

One: I am only 14.

Two: As much as I would like to skip school for 3 days to go to Los Angeles, I can’t.

Console Predictions

But anyways let’s get back to the predictions. I predict pretty much the obvious that the Next-Gen XBOX and PS4 will be there. And that doesn’t necessarily mean announcements, but it could be teases, details, or anything pertaining to them.

As you may have seen already, Sony released a video that a lot of people say teased the PS4, but it really teased something pertaining to PlayStation. Now no I am not saying it has nothing to do with the PS4, but it could be the PS VITA slim or a new Xperia Play. I mean think about it, Sony has been releasing a lot of Xperia phones, and why would they just forget about their signature PlayStation Phone?

As for Microsoft, my prediction on that is pretty clear. I think they are going to announce theirs, and release plenty of details about theirs. But out of all the things I can speculate here is the thing I am very sure of. You know how the Surface RT runs a special version of Windows 8 that is optimized for tablets? I predict that the Next-Box, XBOX 720, or Durango or whatever you want to call it will run an optimized version of Windows 8 for the XBOX. I heard somewhere that one of the people who leaked the consoles said that the PS4 is going to be more of a console, while the XBOX is going to be more like a PC.

Game Predictions

There is not much I have to say about game predictions except for the following. As you may already know, Ubisoft has a very strong presence in Montreal. After THQ went bankrupt, Ubisoft acquired THQ Montreal for 2.5 million. While you may think such as I do that $2,500,000 is a lot of money, it is NOTHING compared to how much money the opportunity and what projects will come out of there is worth. I predict that Ubisoft-THQ Montreal will announce some killer things at E3, whether it is new titles or sequals.

As we get closer to E3 2013, there will be more predictions to come. And as always, thanks for stumbling upon the Alex Gaming Blog!

Pokémon X and Y Photos from CoroCoro

NOTE: I know that on N4G it said that these were new photos. Most of the content in this is not new. I have spoken with the person who posted it on N4G, who put an update on the page. Please still feel free to read.

Today I went out to New York City with my friend to go get some manga and check out the Nintendo World Store (again). When we were at the Japanese book store, Kinokuniya, I picked up volumes 1-10 of one piece and he got CoroCoro. The important thing out of all of this is that he pointed out that there were some images of Pokémon X and Y, so here you go!

Will the Vita Make A Comeback?

I own a PS VITA. And, of course, so do other people. But the problem here is that not many other people own PS VITAs. Some people say that the PS VITA is a product failure. I personally think that the PS VITA is not a product failure at all. Okay yeah sales aren’t that great, but look at the PS3. A rock, which anyone could get for free, would have sold better than a PS3 back when it was first selling.

Look at the PS3, for example. It did not sell well at all for at least a year, but now look at it. Almost everyone I know owns a PS3. If this is how the PS3 started, and is now doing very well, couldn’t the Vita all the more  come back too?

It annoys me a lot when my Nintendo Fanboy friends talk trash about the Vita. “Oh the Vita games suck, or at least they used to. The launch was a fail and the games sucked!” What games did the 3DS have? Pilotwings.

Now Pilotwings was a good game but that is about all of the good games that the 3DS had at launch except for Street fighter. In my opinion, the PS VITA had one of the best launches of all time. The problem was what came after, nothing. Nothing really good came out within the launch window. Now if you look at the background, you will see an image of Ragnarok Odyssey. That is probably my favorite game of all time. It may not be the best, but it is a challenging RPG that isn’t too complex. IGN gave the game a 5/10. Their user rating was a 9.3/10. Go with the user rating. Oops got too carried away with this…

But my point of bringing up the Ragnarok image is because if the Vita had games like that following the launch there would be more of an incentive to buy it. The Vita is more than capable of running good games. Sometimes I make fun of those “Console Quality, On The Go.” campaign that Sony runs for the Vita because, sure it is true but they haven’t really put in the effort for the Vita. Its got the potential. If Sony puts in the time and effort the Vita could most definitely become popular and pull in good money.

These 6 things are a good start to a comeback:

  • Destination Playstation
  • Sony’s E3
  • New CEO
  • CEO’s Oath that SONY will make a comeback
  • Games like Killzone and Soul Sacrifice, Etc.
  • Rumored games like FF 10 HD and Monster Hunter.

In conclusion I think that the Vita comeback is not impossible, it is more than a reality, but it needs some amazing games and a “hook”.

If you like or follow you automatically enter for a chance to win a free Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed lanyard or Pokémon Black and White 2 3DS case! The case also works for the XL.

PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT a Sony fanboy at all! I actually am a Nintendo fanboy if anything at all, but I like to stay open minded.
